here we go, a great meeting and just like old times

ahhhhh here we go again..... running around like crazy people finding last minute solutions to last minute problems.... but it turns out, I kinda like it ......

a meeting with a like-minded person, and a positive outlook..... makes all the difference in the world

10pm building skate ramps and eating take out pizza...... reminds me of the good old days of extreme weekends, where life was a bit simpler and had a whole lot of fun in it.... need to remember that

better, chocolate and lovely words

turns out that getting bad news is a lot better than waiting for bad news

sometimes all that will do is chocolate, and today that came in the form of leftover chocolate crackle cakes

my husband posted some lovely words on facebook that made me feel all warm and fuzzy

a busy, crazy day ended with a quiet moment at home listening to the birds tweet tweet tweeting

stacking piles of paper and getting things unjumbled gives me a feeling of calm and contentment

chocolate crackles, yum yum campanile and sleeeeeeep

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... the french can make pretty much anything taste more delicious than you could imagine..... and the chocolate crackle cakes a perfect example of this...

after a long and kinda boring days driving, I pull up to the Campanile hotel in St Malo, and sit straight down to a super delicious dinner.... who knew a chain hotel could have such a good restaurant ( a bottle of perrier, steak haché with potato blinis, chorizo, chevre and a green salad, then dark chocolate mousse with a white chocolate ganache for €13.50 !!!)

a hotel bed looks soooo much better if you've been driving for 7 hours and you're about to fall into it

running again, picnic at the lake and catching up with friends

early morning run around the lake makes me very happy indeed and leaves me buzzing all day (and with slightly aching calves !)

once Jeff has finished work, we pack up a picnic full of yummy leftovers, head to the lake and celebrate our easter weekend in style. We haven't had a whole lot of time together, but doing stuff like this makes the time we do have even more special

what was supposed to be a cruisy early night turned into a pretty late one, but that was ok because we got to catch up with some great friends and I finally got to hang out with one of our good friends' girlfriends, who I had heard so much about but never actually met !

a brand I love, Napoli dinner and being tucked in

so there is this new (ish) brand called South West, based of course in the SW, and I freaking love it.... super cute tees and vest tops and emits a real feeling of pride for those who live in this awesome town called Hossegor :)

Jeff and I had dinner at the Napoli tonight..... it was busy, we were hungry and we had a tonne of laughs.... and perhaps a little too much rosé...

my husband really looks after me...... if he ever feels like catching up with the boys, then he insists on taking me home and tucking me into bed before he heads back out again..... might sound silly to some, but I love it

new appliances, salsa and good times at La Paloumere

phew.... after a few days realising that life without a fridge is actually pretty hard work, we now have a new fridge AND a food processor !!!

ha ha so the new food processor meant that I could throw a whole load of ingredients in, give it a whizz and have some delicious salsa to go with our aperitif

does every girl have some sort of guilty pleasure in pulling off a domestic goddess day ? laundry done, new fridge in, apartment clean, dinner cooked and work finished..... ahhhh time to relax have a super fun dinner with Claire & Jeffo

fresh perspective, good wishes and thank goodness for Nori Boy

sometimes you just need to look at something in a different light to find a positive spin on it

a lot of good wishes were sent our way from people we love and care about....... made me feel very loved and cared about !

a good friend of ours runs a great café called Nori Boy.... and on long days when we have been super busy we can cruise in and get a container of whatever delicious leftovers they have.... tonight it was thai green curry, chicken satay and rice :)

thank goodness for a plan B, speedy drive home and Chez Monette

for some reason, when we got some good news a couple of weeks ago, it felt a little too good to be true..... so I pursued a plan B.... and this morning I found out my intuition had been right and was pretty stoked I still had another option

had to drive to Bordeaux and back today for a meeting, but somehow the drive home felt much faster than the way up.... which was nice

we were planning to go out for dinner, but didn't know where, then found ourselves celebrating that Chez Monette had just opened for the season. Ok so it was still a little chilly to be sitting outside but we threw on some extra clothing and enjoyed the first of many fun nights

sunshine drive, home again and tapas

there's something about driving under blue skies that makes time go quicker...... todays drive was speedy and I made the most of being solo by turning up my music LOUD and singing along.... for the whole 6 and a half hours :)

ahhhh pulling off the peage, slowing down, breathing in the smell of the pine trees and the ocean and parking up outside our apartment and seeing my gorgeous husband come out to meet me.... i'm home again

went out for tapas at Barrio tonight...ended up ordering a lot of different dishes and feasting on yummy accras de morue, rabas, serrano, chorizo......

early SUP, challenging mission, and super lovely BBQ at the beach

so, just like Christmas morning when you're a kid, I woke up super early and wanted to go play with my new toy..... so I drove to the beach and went for a paddle.... it was a bit wobbly and took a bit of getting used to, but reminded me so much of early mornings when I worked at the surf school, and I would feel like I was escaping from the world to venture out to the ocean

what a day..... good thing it started so zen..... there was a lot of last minute running around to be done today, but somehow, goodness knows how, everything was done and dusted by the end of the day

Pauls birthday so we all headed to the beach for an awesome bbq..... mmmmm sunset, surrounded by friends, yummy food and laughter

monday start, early dinner with Ali & Simon and a package !

ok, so I'm a geek, but I do love a Monday that follows a weekend of work..... it feels like I've got a headstart and I'm already running when everyone else is working out how to turn on the coffee machine

true friends are those who call you on a work day, tell you they are cooking you dinner, but let you know that you need an early night, so once you've eaten they want you to cruise home full and happy and hop into bed

a package, big and long was sitting on Simons' car when I got there tonight.... yahoooo my SUP has arrived :)

its always a bit sucky to be working when the weather is great, especially on the weekend when you know everyone else is out there having fun..... but I managed to do a fair bit of work outside today (ok, so there was a bit of squinting going on trying to look at my laptop screen, but hey)

my folks blow me away with their love and never ending support for us and what we are trying to do.... they humble me

after a weekend crammed full of website editing (ho hum) I see light at the end of the tunnel....we're almost there...

bbq season is here, top floor and fresh herbs

yipee.... its official...bbq season has arrived...... tonight marked the first of many bbqs on the deck, with dad at the helm and mum creating some sort of magic in the kitchen.....

whenever I have to park in a multi-storey car park, and if the weather is nice, I try to park on the top floor...... theres something really special about emerging out of the concrete jungle to clear blue open sky

a quick scurry around the garden to pick some fresh rosemary and thyme to add to my homemade garlic bread

challenges, a moment lying in the sun and a nice phone call

wow what a day, filled with challenges and deadlines...... felt good to celebrate the small victories today

worked at home till early evening, but took a moment out to go lie on the deck and absorb some sunshine

mindless tv, autopilot and finally an early night

oh my goodness....beyond tired today.... so when I got home I was pretty stoked to change into my trackie pants and watch some mindless tv

eating dinner happened in autopilot mode today, I was so exhausted so felt pretty stoked that mum cooked up a delicious veggie stir fry and all I had to do was eat it :)

snuggled into bed at 9pm....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lush

yikes what a relief, sushi and a gig

had to do something not so great today that had been playing on my mind for weeks.... so took the bull by the horns and did it the moment I arrived back in Jersey. It was totally the right thing to do, and I felt a wave of relief once it was over

went out for sushi with Ali tonight..... yum yum.....so good to hang out, chat and eat good food

we went to a gig after dinner to see the most amazing guy playing guy playing guitar....really folky and a bit bluesy...loved it

phew, amazing family and old bed

was a little nervous about driving up today just because the front of my car still needs to be fixed..... but it was all good and I had no dramas at all....phew

got back to Dinard at 6pm and drove straight to Nanys house, just in time for an aperitif and a huge catch up. I am so blessed to have such an awesome family. Love them to bits.

felt like stepping back in time tonight, Nany had made my bed up in the room we used to sleep in when we were kids..... same bed, same bed covers, same books on the shelves...... gotta love nostalgia

busy day, dinner at chez minus and back in no time :)

work day today.....full of silly amounts of work and brain frazzling moments, but made me grateful for having a job I can do from pretty much anywhere. Loving the fact that Jeff and I created this opportunity for ourselves.

tennis, turn it upside down and imagining our dream house

the weather was kinda grey today but we headed out to play tennis against the fronton wall in Soorts.... ha ha ha we laugh so much when we play, it's an awesome way to hang out

the gloomy weather had me feeling a little gloomy this morning, but it felt good to turn that feeling upside down and remember that happiness is available to me anytime, anywhere, just got to make it happen

we drove around checking the surf this afternoon and found ourselves looking at dream houses and picking out our favourite places.....gotta love letting your imagination take over

surfing, sunbaking and falling back into it

we drove up to Casernes this morning, loaded our bags with wetsuits, water, sunscreen and snacks and hiked up the beach, set up camp and surfed an empty sandbank just the two of us

after our surf we sunbaked and tried not to laugh out loud at all the funny naked folk wandering past..... ha ha ha gotta love french nudie beaches

what I love about living down here is that it takes me approximately 5 mins to fall back into this lifestyle whenever I've been away...... its almost immediate and I love it. After our surf and sunbake, we cruised past the supermarket, picked up some yummy food and headed to the lake for a pique nique....life is good

landing, the smell of summer and late night pizza

after a day of travelling, I finally landed in Biarritz...... so beautiful it blows me away each and every time I fly in.... the mountains, the sparkling blue ocean, the dunes and the forests...when I stepped off the plane, and was hit by a rush of super warm air

we had planned to go out for dinner, but stopped off at the Cream for a drink, which ended up being a few drinks and some yummy calamari, then suddenly it was 10pm and all we wanted to do was get take out pizza and go home and fub out

another early run mission......for me, nothing can beat getting up early and doing some sort of exercise, it seems to set me up for the day and boost a positive mindset

there is a courtyard outside our office that barely sees any sun, high walls surround it and it always feels a little grey, but today, there was a warm ray of sunshine that made you stop and enjoy it each time you walked past

yipeeee summer is definitely on its way..... we had our first beach bbq tonight. So good to feel the sand between my toes and smell a little bonfire-y when I got home :)

ahhhhh there's nothing better than getting outside into the sun and fresh air after a day in the office..... we all met at the beach for a super fun surf and ended up staying in and seeing the beautiful sunset

it's official.... I have the loveliest friends.... after our surf, we all missioned back to Alex and Paul for a super delicious homemade veggie lasagne

surfing stays with you long after each session..... like a post surf glow that reminds you of all the fun you had.... salty skin, sore shoulders, sun burnt nose

creativity, leftovers and truth

work has been so crazy recently with deadlines and ridiculous workloads, felt good to be doing something creative again today

mmmmmm leftovers today were beyond amazing.......... a neat little box full of homemade mexican yumminess

Jeff called tonight and spoke some words of truth....... he's very courageous and that makes me feel both inspired and proud

running early, fresh air and washing the car

woke up early and felt the urge to run...... I love that feeling, like your body is taking over your mind and before you know it you're lacing up your trainers and heading out the door

so lush outside this morning, ran at the beach so the air felt fresh and crisp and amazing

got home after a busy day at work and washed the car.... seemed like the perfect thing to do on a late sunny afternoon.... always enjoyed a sunny car wash

a book about life, squeaky clean facemask and slow roast pork

just finished reading a great book about life, and making the most of it

there's something lovely about a facemask that leaves your skin squeaky clean afterwards

mmmmmmm roasted pork for 6 hours with mexican spices.......

nice long stomp, flights booked and a mexican feast

catching up with Alex at the beach this morning turned into an impromptu 2 hour walk... which was lovely

yipee..... I bit the bullet this morning and booked some flights down to Biarritz for next weekend

Alex & Paul came round for dinner tonight so I had a super fun afternoon prepping for a mexican feast.... homemade gorditas followed by Baja fish tacos, homemade refried beans, spanish rice, fresh salsa, guacamole and chipotle & lime crema..... with strawberries for dessert :)

sweat, a solution and some words of encouragement

woke up early and did a new work out..... yikes it was tough.... and I think I worked out harder than I have in ages.... felt good to sweat

wow, after a whole lot of exploring and work, I think we may finally have a solution to a problem that has been looming over me like a dark cloud
